To me, wealth is the ability to fully enjoy the parts of my life that are most meaningful to me—family, friends, community, and place of work. It’s spending time with loved ones, trips to the beach, and coaching my son’s baseball team.
What inspires me the most about the work I do is having the opportunity to help our team members fulfill their career/life goals and, in some cases, bring further clarity on what those goals are. Whether it be through working with them on further development of technical skills, discussions on how to deal with challenging conversations, or even the recruitment of new team members to add to the Morton family, seeing our people grow personally and professionally is what fills my cup.
In 2010, I traveled to Costa Rica to tour five different coffee farms and had an opportunity to pick cherries along with the farmers. Before Morton, I worked for Peet’s Coffee and Tea for 15 years, so my love of coffee runs deep!

Confidence in my financial life—being able to rely on a collection of resources I have built up, both physical and mental, that support my well-being and ability to indulge in my passion for traveling with family.
Being financially stable has always been a personal goal of mine and creates financial confidence in my life. At Morton, I have been able to expand on this, providing confidence to our advisors and clients that their portfolios align with their goals. This is something that I find very inspiring and truly is the backbone of what I get to do every day!
Born in Manchester, England, I have participated in numerous traditional British pantomime play productions in Burbank, CA. I usually played the role of the princess.

Wealth is essentially knowledge. As Warren Buffett says, “The best investment you can make is an investment in yourself.” I believe knowledge is the key to wealth because material wealth is subjective and often those with everything feel as if they have nothing and vice versa. It is knowledge that allows us to gain perspective and change the way we look at a situation, which is the ultimate driver of success. Material wealth allows us to acquire what is, while knowledge allows us to acquire what could be.
My inspiration comes from having a passion for learning about the markets and helping empower my teammates to serve our clients most effectively. Being able to work on projects that truly impact our clients’ lives is a motivating experience. Knowing that the outcome of my work will touch the lives of many is something that pushes me to be my best self in everything I do.
Some fun facts about me are that I play piano, engineer music, and have a deep love for Japanese culture.

What wealth means to me cannot be quantified easily. Wealth is not limited to strictly tangibles but also the intangibles, such as relationships, knowledge, and values. Assets aren’t just a dollar figure because that doesn’t paint the entire picture of the amount of work and sacrifice put in.
What inspires me about the work I do at Morton is the opportunity to help others achieve their goals and financial stability. I want to make a difference in the community and better the lives of others.
I am a sports fanatic, especially when it comes to the Dodgers. I host my own Dodgers podcast called The Incline, where I invite guests, including current and retired athletes along with other personalities.

Wealth to me is not only being financially stable but also being able to feel fulfilled in the life that I have built for myself and the life that I will be able to build for a future family. If you feel a sense of belonging and purpose in where you are at in your life, then that is true wealth to me.
Knowing that the work I am doing is going to help a greater cause that I can stand by and feel fulfilled by. Also having amazing, kind-hearted people around me who want to help with my success and me wanting to get to a point in my career where I can help them, and Morton, succeed as well.

Living through a year-long pandemic has completely changed my view of wealth and reminded me not to take the little things for granted. While I know it’s important to be financially stable and make informed decisions, enjoying the wealth of life, family, and friends has become just as important.
The culture! It’s so refreshing to enjoy coming to work and the people I work with. Morton is the first place I’ve worked where we care just as much about our clients and helping them enjoy their lives as we do about employees doing the same. And with my background in baking, bringing in the occasional baked goods to share with everyone is a plus too.

To me, wealth means having meaningful relationships with people who add value to your life, the ability to experience new things and places with those you love, and having the time to spend doing things that bring you joy, such as being in nature.
I feel inspired to do the work I do at Morton because everyone is so supportive in the growth of who you are in your career as well as personal life. Wealth to me is creating relationships with people in my life. Having a strong foundation for growth and positive change creates a passion to live daily. This allows me to get closer to my goals and hopefully help others to go after their own as well. Social wealth allows me to value others to their fullest and be a part of the exciting nuances that relationships bring to life.
I am inspired by the work I do at Morton because of the people around me. The Morton family is passionate about helping our clients maximize their lives and it is prevalent in our everyday work environment. Seeing the effort and attention to detail that goes into our work makes it obvious that we truly want what is best for our clients and it sparks the motivation to also bring my best daily.
A fun fact that most people do not know about me is that I grew up without a television in my house.

Wealth to me means financial independence. As a high schooler, I had the responsibility of providing for myself financially, and I quickly learned the value of even one dollar. It means everything to me to be able to provide for myself and make decisions based on my wants, needs, and goals.
The people I am surrounded by inspire me every day. To work at a company that shares my values and allows me to explore areas I am passionate about is rare to find. Additionally, I am motivated by creating an excellent client experience. The excitement I get when I see a happy client makes my week.

Wealth to me means being closely connected to what makes you feel most alive. That looks different for a lot of people but for me it’s staying connected to nature, nurturing relationships with family and friends, and pursuing the passions and simple joys of life
There is so much that inspires me here at Morton but at the end of the day, it boils down to the people and culture. I am inspired by the team approach we have to everything we do and am truly inspired by each individual to not only do my best work, but to be the best version of myself every day.
A fun fact that people may not know about me is that I have a wild passion for all things interior design and architecture. A lifelong dream of mine is to one day build and design my dream home from the ground up!

I believe wealth means having the resources to care for what you love, whether you are able to financially provide for your family, save for a child’s future, volunteer at an organization, or protect yourself from unexpected crises. I do not believe riches are limited to money and assets. Wealth can also be defined by time, knowledge, status, health, and much more. I believe wealth is a powerful tool that can impact lives and when we approach it with humility and selflessness, we can change the world for the better.
My work at Morton motivates me to encourage others to become educated about personal finance so they can live more purposeful lives. As someone who came to Morton without any prior experience in the finance industry, I have improved my financial literacy because Morton has made learning and education a priority for all of their employees and clients. Now, I can better care for myself and loved ones financially while empowering other individuals to do the same. Morton inspires me to help myself and others protect and extend wealth for generations.
I love to travel. In my lifetime, I have traveled to four of the seven continents (North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa). I lived in Germany for a year while studying abroad at Pepperdine University and after college, I lived in China for a year teaching English at a Chinese university. I’ve also traveled to over 25 states in the U.S. and over 20 countries in the world.

To me, wealth means meeting goals not inspired by how much I have, but by how much I love people. Wealth also means being surrounded by people who encourage, challenge, and inspire me and having the time to experience life together.
At Morton, I work with people who are not only excellent at what they do, but they also love to laugh and have a genuine care for each other. I know that I want to bring my best every time and to know that it makes an internal and external impact makes me proud.
I have a passion for vintage children’s books, Korean food, typography/fonts/proper kerning, the Dodgers, my church, and my wonderful family.

Wealth is tricky to define because you can be wealthy in many different aspects of your life. My immediate response is to define wealth in terms of finances—which isn’t a bad place to start—but wealth is so much more than that, though. I believe that true wealth allows you the freedom to enjoy life with those you love, pursue your goals, and be generous to those less fortunate.
In 2019, I stumbled across a couple of podcasts and quickly realized my passion for personal finance. I enjoyed listening to people’s journeys from financial distress to financial freedom and the peace they experienced looking toward retirement. I knew then that I wanted to help people improve their relationship with money and, fortunately, I found Morton. I am proud to be part of a company that leads with its values. It is rare and refreshing for a company to go above and beyond to encourage each employee’s continued education and career growth.

To me, wealth is about being happy. It’s watching my kids excel at school, football, and rugby. It’s listening to my husband sing and play the keyboard. It’s barbecuing at my mom’s with my sisters, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephew. It’s a friendly (and very competitive!) cornhole tournament with all my in-laws. It’s going to hit golf balls at the range with my dad. It’s visiting my best friend in Nevada. When I can do these things, I feel wealthy because it is all I need to be happy.
It inspires me to know that our work enables clients to turn their financial dreams into a reality. It's an incredible feeling to finish work each day and know I made an impact. I am honored to be a part of an amazing, hardworking team of people who empower and support one another and whose goal is to do the same for our clients.
I served as an exchange student in Japan during the summer of 2000. The highlight of my trip was going to a Fukuoka Hawks game (the local professional baseball team). Their seventh-inning-stretch tradition is like nothing I've ever seen. Along with singing and chanting, all the fans blow up a balloon and release it into the air in unison, sending the balloons whistling and flying all over the stadium. It's so fun and very unique.

Personally, wealth means having the security and freedom to use my time and resources however I want rather than out of necessity. My idea of wealth would allow me to provide security for my family, create jobs or income for people in my industry, weather any adversity that comes my way, take a fun vacation, or have the flexibility to donate or volunteer in the community.
What inspires you about the work you do at Morton? My work at Morton inspires me in many ways. Not only do I get the privilege of aiding in the growth and development of various team members, but I am also able to bridge gaps between teams to ensure a better, more fulfilling workplace for all. The Morton culture is amazingly inclusive, comforting, and empowering, which inspires me to be my best, personally and professionally, every day for this company, my team, and our clients.
When I was playing as a 3-year-old, I split my eyebrow open on the corner of a table. My mom rushed me home and my dad, a doctor, stitched me up on our kitchen table. My siblings and I have never been to the hospital to get stitches---we’ve either resorted to the kitchen table or the couch

Wealth to me is a mindset and a way of life. If you have a heart full of love, a mindset of gratitude, a purposeful life, and the luxury of your health: that is wealth. Getting to share the beauty of life with my people makes me extra wealthy.
I get the pleasure of working with people who inspire me. Everyone here is eager to learn, grow, and do the best they can for one another and the people we are lucky enough to call clients. Then knowing that we as a company get to help enhance clients’ lives— that’s the good stuff
